The California Youth Service Corps program is for youth ages 16-30 that may have experienced barriers to employment and are needing on-the-job training, coaching and supports to obtain the job skills necessary to be sustainably employed. Bright Futures for Youth is offering a variety of grant-funded paid internships as part of this program. See below for openings.
NEO PROGRAM ASSISTANT

| Compensation: | $16.90 – $20 per hour |
| Location: | 200 Litton Drive, Grass Valley, CA |
| Reports To: | NEO Program Manager |
The NEO Program Assistant will be trained to support the NEO Program Manager and Coordinators in implementing program activities for middle school and high school youth in the drop-in youth center as well as in outreach efforts in the community and schools. This involves engaging with diverse youth through conversations, art, music, sports, and games. They will also participate in daily opening and closing duties and ensure a safe, supportive, and enriching environment. This is a part-time, non-exempt position supervised by the NEO Program Manager.

SAFE Peer Support Specialist

| Reports To: | SAFE Program Manager |
The SAFE Peer Support Specialist will be trained to support the SAFE Program Manager and Program Team in providing peer support and basic-needs assistance to youth and young adults experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Through their own lived experience, the intern will learn to build rapport, model self-advocacy, support youth in working toward their case plan goals, and connect youth with BFFY and community resources related to housing, benefits, employment, education, and physical and mental wellness. The internship is part time at 25 hours per week for 12 months and will report to the SAFE Program Manager.
