Bright Futures for Youth will celebrate the grand opening of the new NEO Youth Center from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, a dream-come-true effort that has gained the interest – and support – of many in Nevada County. This event is for kids between 6th-12th grade and the community.
The 3,700-square-foot space – which includes a café, game area, music room, small stage and patio – is about connecting with young people in a safe and supervised setting. From embracing endless possibilities to learning new skills and making new friends, the NEO Youth Center will be the place to go for several hundred youth every year.
Hundreds of community members and and the next generation of adults in Nevada County will attend the celebration for the new NEO Youth Center and Lights on After School, a national event that highlights the importance of after-school programs.
It’s a fun-filled event that includes tours of the new NEO Youth Center, live music, DJ party, a ball pit, bounce house, corn hole, gaga ball and Nerf zone. Free food, including grilled cheese sandwiches and CoCo’s Lazy Dog Ice Cream, and refreshments are also part of the fun.
The event is about celebrating our accomplishments, each other, our youth and our community, which has come together to support the dream of investing and supporting the first-ever large Youth Center in Nevada County.
