Nevada County Cinderella Project moves, expands hours and space

Bright Futures for Youth’s Cinderella Project, which provides free formal clothes for high school and middle school students and younger college students, and low-cost items for others, has moved to Sammie’s Nifty Thrift Shop at 535 E. Main St. in Grass Valley.

The new location allows the Cinderella Project to expand hours – and have a lot more space for dresses, tuxedos and many other formal clothes. The Cinderella Project, which started in 2010, helps young people attend special events without worrying about the cost for formal clothes.

The Cinderella Project is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Sammie’s Nifty Thrift Shop is operated by Sammie’s Friends, a nonprofit that operates the Nevada County Animal Shelter.
