Friday Night Live encourages young people to make healthy choices and avoid alcohol, drugs
Bright Futures for Youth oversees Friday Night Live, an on-campus program that encourages young people to live clean, healthy lives without substance abuse, such as alcohol and drugs.
Friday Night Live has five chapters at four schools in the community as part of a partnership with Nevada County. About 100 students from 4th-12th grade participate in the county-funded program.
From peer-to-peer conversations to offering adult role models, Friday Night Live provides alternatives and encourages young people to build strong relationships, have fun and focus on their future.
Nevada County has approved funding for the upcoming school year (2026-27).
“We greatly appreciate the county’s commitment to young people and the ongoing support of Friday Night Live,” said Jennifer Singer, Executive Director of Bright Futures for Youth. “Together, we are making a difference and helping young people make better choices and avoid alcohol and drugs.”
