Making a fashion statement – and helping Bright Futures for Youth

Fashion, food, fun and full of surprises.

Our annual Power of the Purse luncheon on March 20 was so special and such a success. Almost 300 people attended the annual fundraiser at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Grass Valley. A great time was had by all so stay tuned for the March 2025 date.

More than 75 supporters have committed to a monthly donation. From small to larger gifts, this collective effort adds up to ensure our programs can help empower youth in Nevada County.

“Becoming a monthly donor was as easy as giving up one lunch with my friends or pizza and salad with my family to make a life-changing difference in the lives of young people.”
— Linda Campbell, long-time monthly donor and presenter at Power of the Purse

Bright Futures for Youth’s much-anticipated Power of the Purse event brings hundreds of community members together to connect over lunch – and bid on or enter a raffle for classic, chic, fashionable and trend-setting purses donated by businesses and individuals.

Giving back has never looked so good.

The dollars raised benefit Bright Futures for Youth and its three core programs – The Friendship Club, NEO and SAFE, a program for children and young adults experiencing housing instability.

Our programs offer after-school programs and life-skills lessons to ensuring access to health care and counseling. We also provide safety-net services for youth, such as clothes and healthy meals.

Many thanks to our Power of the Purse sponsors (see the list, below) who make the event possible – and help raise money for our year-round programs.

Together, we are making a difference in the lives of hundreds of young people who participate every month in Bright Futures for Youth programs.
