The GREAT Camp 2023

The summer camp, in partnership with the Grass Valley Police Department, serves sixth- through eighth-grade students and helps them develop leadership skills. Fun activities, field trips and team building are all part of the camp that aims to develop relationships and improve communication, decision-making, empathy and anger management skills.

The camp in 2023 was for incoming sixth-grade students and was held June 26-30, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Silver Springs School.

Youth Hub Summer Camp 2023

The Youth Hub Summer Day Camp is a fun and educational camp for youth that will be offered as week-long sessions for five consecutive weeks this summer. Participants can choose to attend as many weeks they would like.

When: Weekdays from June 26 to July 28 (Closed July 4 & 5)

Time: 8 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Where:  Deer Creek Elementary School in Nevada City

Ages: The camp is open to incoming transitional kindergarteners to 8th-grade students

Fees & Scholarships: The camp is available for all families, regardless of their household income. For low-income families camp may be available at no cost. The most any family would pay is $200 a week per child. Payments can be made online, or by check or cash. We also accept SNCS. Click here to determine what percentage of the camp fee you pay based on your income.

Meals & Snacks: Participants will receive breakfast and lunch, and a morning and afternoon snack.

Weekly themed activities: The five-week day camp will offer a range of age-appropriate activities on numerous subjects, including art, reading, writing, math, science and technology.

What better way to start the summer than by enjoying time outside and focusing on ways we can make our home a little bit better? This week campers will get to know each other and camp routines, including ways we can all be a little green by picking up our trash, not wasting materials, and unplugging. We’ll build shelters out of things we find in nature, create art from recycled materials, and learn what else we can do to take care of our planet.

Every day this week is a new theme, and every day it’s a surprise!

Christmas in July? Yep! During this week we will celebrate some of our favorite holidays (Halloween anyone?) and also celebrate a few holidays from around the world that aren’t familiar to us.

For 3rd graders and above, this week also marks our first week of Quest Camp, where students play, connect and create through problem-based learning, social-emotional learning, art and writing, and game play.

During this immersive week, campers will participate in screen-free live-action versions of their favorite video games.

For 3rd graders and above, our second week of Quest Camp, where students play, connect and create through problem-based learning, social-emotional learning, art and writing, and game play.

Come explore the galaxy with us during our final week together! This week we’ll immerse ourselves in all things space. We’ll launch rockets, learn about space debris and maybe even create our own aliens! While we dream about space, we’ll also look back on all the fun we’ve had and dream about next summer.

For 3rd graders and above, our final week of Quest Camp,  where students play, connect and create through problem-based learning, social-emotional learning, art and writing, and game play.
